On Saturday, November 17, Dr. and Mrs. Howard and their son, Joshua traveled to Morgantown, West Virginia to watch the West Virginia vs. Oklahoma football game with Drew and Mary Payne. Drew is a member of the class of 1980 and also serves as the Chairman of the West Virginia University Board of Governors. While at Hampden-Sydney, Drew was a member of the basketball team and he recorded the first points to ever be scored in Kirby Fieldhouse. While on the field before the game, Dr. Howard met with Colonel Gred Gadson, a long time friend, Iraq war veteran, and current Garrison Commander at Fort Belvoir. Dr. Howard and Col. Gadson first met when they were playing against each other on the football field, Howard at Air Force and Gadson at Army.
