John B. Adams '71
Chairman and CEO, The Martin Agency, Richmond, VA
Mr. Adams got his start in the advertising business not long after graduating from Hampden-Sydney. Under his leadership, The Martin Agency has enjoyed great success, becoming the first agency named "Agency of the Year" five times by Adweek Magazine, most recently in 2009. The agency has created advertising campaigns for Mercedes-Benz, Quiznos, Saab, Spike TV, Miller, Olympus, Delta Faucets, Wal-Mart, and NASCAR. The Martin Agency most notably created the Geico Insurance Gecko and the "brown" theme for UPS.
Tom N. Allen '60
Chairman, The Clovelly Corporation, Richmond, VA
Mr. Allen, a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and the University of Virginia School of Law, has served as chairman of The Clovelly Corporation since 2001. Mr. Allen formerly served as director and board president of Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond, chairman of Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, chairman of Leadership Metro Richmond, and director of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation. He is a board member of the Virginia Historical Society.

Mr. Blackwell joined Crescent Resources in 2011 as regional development manager of the Mid-Atlantic. Prior to joining Crescent, he was a vice president at Willis North America. He served as an adjunct professor at the University of Richmond from 1997-2005. Mr. Brown also served as Law Clerk to the Hon. Robert R. Merhige, Jr., United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Corporation for Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest and a member of the City of Richmond Charter Review Commission. Dr. Caplin is also Founder and CEO of Dentrust Dental, a corporation established in 1990 that provides dental care for governmental institutions throughout the United States, including correctional facilities, juvenile centers, foster care, and the United States Military. In 1997, Dentrust was awarded a contract for primary dental care of active duty military personnel, and to-date is the only private company in the history of the Department of Defense to foster such a partnership. Today, Dentrust is one of the largest providers of institutional dental care in the nation.

William Gayle Crutchfield, Jr.
Founder and CEO, Crutchfield Corporation, Charlottesville, VA
In 1974, with only $1,000, Mr. Crutchfield founded Crutchfield Corporation in his mother's basement. Since then, Crutchfield Corporation has grown into one of the nation's largest specialty direct retailers. He is a 1965 graduate of the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce. Mr. Crutchfield holds an appointment as a Visiting Lecturer at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. In 1997, Governor George Allen appointed Mr. Crutchfield to the University of Virginia's Board of Visitors where he served until 2005. He is a current member of the Chief Executives Organization, World Presidents' Organization and Beta Gamma Sigma, the national business honor society. Mr. Crutchfield's accomplishments have earned him a citation from the Small Business Administration and inclusion in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in Finance and Business.

Mr. Flemming serves as Chairman of the Friends of Adam Smith, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the free enterprise system. Mr. Flemming is a member of the BIPAC board of directors and is a member of the executive advisory board of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council. Mr. Flemming has over twenty years of broad-based management experience in the security industry, including business start-up, design, marketing, strategy, research, development, and manufacturing.
Andy W. Freitas '92

Upon graduation from Hampden-Sydney, Mr. Freitas and his father, who had just retired from the military (he was in charge of war plans during the Gulf War), became the first Papa John's franchisees in the Washington, D.C. area in Sterling, VA. Over the next eight years, Mr. Freitas and his father became the most successful Papa John's franchises in the world, while operating in one of the country's most competitive markets. Mr. Freitas operates 54 stores in the Greater DC metro area and has been named the national franchisee of the year.

Mr. Harris co-founded Harris William & Co. in 1991 as a national investment banking firm focusing on mergers and acquisitions. Under Mr. Harris' leadership, Harris Williams & Co. has become one of the largest and most influential mergers and acquisitions boutiques in the country. Having directed over 200 mergers and acquisitions transactions during his career, Mr. Harris has worked extensively in the industries of consumer products, building products, industrial manufacturing, natural resources, retailing, media, and various services businesses. The Honorable Dr. John Hillen
President and CEO, Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc., Herndon, VA
Dr. Hillen has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc. since 2008. Prior to joining the company and then taking it public in 2009, Dr. Hillen served as U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs. Prior to that, Dr. Hillen was President of what is now CGI Federal Inc., a federal IT services company that is a subsidiary of CGI Inc., a Canadian IT services firm. Prior to that, Dr. Hillen led the defense and intelligence business at American Management Systems, Inc. which was sold to CACI International, Inc. in 2004. He also serves on the federal advisory commission for the U.S. Navy, having been appointed to that position by the Secretary of Defense in 2007. A government contracting industry leader, Dr. Hillen is Vice Chairman of the Professional Services Council and is a 2011 recipient of the "Fed 100" award from Federal Computer Week magazine.

Myron L. Rolle
Professional Athlete, Pittsburgh Steelers, NFL
Mr. Rolle attended Florida State University, where he was a three-year starter on the football team, earning All-American honors in his final season. He received the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship for the 2009-10 academic year. After completing his studies, he was drafted by the Tennessee Titans; he now plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He started the Myron L. Rolle Foundation in 2009, dedicated to the support of health, wellness, educational, and other charitable initiatives throughout the world that benefit children and families in need.

Mr. Shelly leads all efforts working with wealthy family groups and individual investors in the management of their investable assets and is a member of the Investment Committee responsible for overseeing client portfolios. Prior to joining Lazard, Mr. Shelly was a Senior Managing Director at Bessemer Trust, overseeing client acquisition and account management for their Delaware Trust Company, Mid-Atlantic, South and Southeast regions.
