Professor Frank Archer ’73, Director of Choral Activities and member of the Glee Club from 1969 to 1973, is retiring—a great excuse for a Reunion Concert! The plan is to gather for rehearsals during the morning and afternoon of March 22nd, have an elegant dinner together in Settle Hall, and present a concert of old and new favorites at 8:00 p.m. in Crawley Forum. The newly-renovated Tiger Inn will welcome us after the concert to continue the festivities.
This invitation is going to all former Glee Club classes, as well as to the singers it has been my privilege to teach for the past 11 years. We hope you will be able to join us, the current chorus, our new a capella group, The Acousticals, and, of course, a welcoming campus family.
A modest registration fee of $40.00 will cover dinner, logistics, and music mailing ($25.00 for spouses/partners).
You will also have an opportunity to contribute toward a chorus tour to the New York area scheduled for February. All of those voluntary contributions would be tax-deductible through the Office of Institutional Advancement and would assist in giving our current singers a great traveling experience, like the ones so many of us enjoyed over the years.
Please make plans to return to the Hill and enjoy once again the great music and inspiring brotherhood we have shared. I hope to see many of you in March! Feel free to contact me at my e-mail address with questions and suggestions. Thanks to all of you for being an important part of Hampden-Sydney history and its commitment to the Arts - and my life.
