In all of my classes I require students to earn Culture Points toward their grade.  This requires students to attend functions outside of class, such as presentations by invited speakers.  This gives students a chance to experience mathematics outside of a classroom and it gives them the opportunity to see math they might not otherwise get to see.  I hope the Culture Points will increase students' appreciation for the field of mathematics.

I am also the faculty advisor for the Mathematics and Computer Science Club.  If you are interested in joining the club please contact me.
