Teaching
Course grades and other course material is available on Blackboard. Here is a list of the courses I have taught at Hampden-Sydney linked with the most recent syllabi:
Math 140 - Calculus for Economics
Math 431 - Algebraic Structures
In all of my classes I require students to earn Culture Points toward their grade. This requires students to attend functions outside of class, such as presentations by invited speakers. This gives students a chance to experience mathematics outside of a classroom and it gives them the opportunity to see math they might not otherwise get to see. I hope the Culture Points will increase students' appreciation for the field of mathematics.
