Coordinator and Academic advisor: Dr. Joseph Rockelmann, Visiting Assistant Professor of German
Are you interested in world affairs? In politics and the workings of governments and financial systems? Students in this Community will be enrolled in a freshman seminar entitled, "Germany, the (un)wanted economic and political leader of the EU". In class, students will analyze and discuss Germany's political and economic system, Germany's role in the EU, and how European countries still fear a strong Germany due to their Nazi past. Students will put themselves in the places of European leaders and explore the future of the EU and the relations among its members. Outside of class, students will explore German history and culture through visiting speakers, field trips, and dinners.
