Coordinator and Academic Advisor: Dr. Michael Wolyniak, Associate Professor of Biology
Science is best learned by rolling up your sleeves and engaging in real research. In this Living and Learning Community, students will be enrolled together in a laboratory section of a core-curriculum course in Biology (BIOL 151: Principles of Biology) that will involve tackling original research questions spanning ecology, molecular biology, genetics, and physiology, making this both a learning experience and a chance to contribute to our understanding of the natural world. Collaborations with students at other colleges, visits from speakers and alumni, and the chance for travel to conferences will round out this experience. Whether you are interested in studying biology long-term or just want to try your hand at scientific research, this community will provide you with an excellent introduction to doing science.
