H-SC coat of arms

The Honors Program is designed specifically for the student who gives evidence of intellectual curiosity, independence of thought, excitement in learning, appreciation of knowledge -- for the young man who sparks the enthusiasm of fellow students and challenges the best in his teachers.

Opportunities in the Honors Program include:
          *Scholarships
          *Funding for independent research
          *Participation in Honors courses
*Departmental Honors and Senior Fellow research

Participants in the program are encouraged to take an active role in the learning process, entering into dialogue with their professors and classmates, rather than just listening to lectures. The size of Hampden-Sydney, and its excellent faculty, make it uniquely suited to provide a learning environment for such a motivated student.
