Hampden-Sydney awards Honors Scholarships at four levels:

Students who meet the listed criteria will be considered for the scholarship. 

ALLAN SCHOLARSHIPS

An SAT score of 1400 or better, 
a class standing in the top 5%

$30,000 grant 

VENABLE SCHOLARSHIPS

An SAT score of 1350 or better, 
a class standing in the top 10%

$25,000 grant 

PATRICK HENRY SCHOLARSHIPS

An SAT score of 1250 or better, 
a class standing in the top 15%

$20,000 grant 

MADISON SCHOLARSHIPS

For enrolled students with outstanding academic records 
during their freshman year.

$20,000 grant (starting with awards granted Spring 2012)
 

Additional funding beyond these awards is possible through our regular financial aid programs, based on a student’s financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Grant awards, unlike loans, do not have to be repaid.
