Full-time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Biology

Hampden-Sydney College seeks qualified applicants for the following, full-time tenure-track assistant professor of biology position.

BIOLOGY with specialization in Physiology. Teaching responsibilities include freshman-level Principles of Biology, sophomore-level Anatomy and Physiology, and advanced courses, preferably in Physiology, Histology, and Developmental or Neurobiology. Hampden-Sydney highly values the teacher/scholar model. Candidates must be broadly trained, dedicated to undergraduate teaching, and prepared to supervise student research. Full-time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Economics (Accounting)

The Department of Economics and Business invites applications for a tenure-track appointment beginning August 2015.  Candidates should be prepared to teach introductory accounting (managerial and financial), corporate finance, and introductory economics courses.  Ph.D. or ABD at advanced dissertation stage preferred in either economics or accounting.  The ideal candidate must be academically qualified (18 graduate hours) to teach both economics and accounting courses. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching.

Full-time Tenure-Track Assistant Professof of Economics

The Department of Economics and Business invites applications for a tenure-track appointment beginning August 2015 microeconomics, and at least two of the following: law & economics, public finance, game theory, economic development.  Ph.D. or ABD at advanced dissertation stage preferred.  Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching.

Spring 2015 Lecturer in Fine Arts

The Department of Fine Arts at Hampden-Sydney College invites applications for a lecturer in Music for the spring 2015 semester; classes begin in January and end in May.  This is a one-semester appointment with no benefits.  The replacement person will lead the Hampden-Sydney Men’s Chorus and teach sections of music fundamentals, music appreciation, and a course on opera history, jazz history, or American music, for a total of four courses. 

It is preferred that candidates have a doctorate in music or be enrolled in a doctorate program; however, candidates with exceptional choral and teaching experience who lack any work toward a doctorate will be considered.
