Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Hampden-Sydney College is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning mid-August 2013, to teach introductory mathematics and statistics together with a variety of upper-level mathematics in a department offering majors in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Computer Science. Hampden-Sydney College highly values the teacher-scholar model. Thus, the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and a drive to sustain an ongoing program of scholarship.

Visiting Appointment in Classics
Hampden-Sydney College, a selective private liberal arts college for men with a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education, invites applications for an approved one-year position in the Department of Classics, beginning August 2013. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Latin at all undergraduate levels as well as courses such as Classical Mythology and Etymology. The teaching load for this position is seven courses per year. Ph.D. or ABD at advanced dissertation stage preferred. Visiting Instructor/Visiting Assistant Professor
Two-year position in Spanish. Beginning Fall 2013. Candidate must be dedicated to undergraduate teaching, be able to teach all levels of language and participate in weekly Spanish table. MA in Spanish required (PhD preferred).

Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics & Astronomy
The Department of Physics and Astronomy anticipates an opening for a one-year sabbatical replacement at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2013. We are seeking an energetic physicist or astronomer (some teaching experience in astronomy preferred) with a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level. The department currently has five full-time faculty members, whose research interests include high energy astrophysics, AMO physics, condensed matter physics and acoustics.
