- Within 14 business days of the completion of your application
- Candidates whose first choice of colleges is Hampden-Sydney should apply under the Early Decision Plan. Application forms must be submitted to the Office of Admissions by November 15. Admissions decisions are mailed 14 business days from the completion of your application. If a student is accepted under the Early Decision Plan, he is expected to confirm his enrollment in the College by January 15 and not submit applications to any other colleges.
- Hampden-Sydney does not deny admission to Early Decision candidates. Those who are not offered admission under the Early Decision Plan are automatically deferred for unbiased consideration under the College's Regular Decision Plan.
- Candidates who submit their application to the Office of Admissions by December 15 and January 15 will be notified of the Committee's decision 14 business days from the completion of their application.
- Accepted applicants are expected to confirm their place in the incoming class by
May 1.
- Candidates choosing the Regular Admission Plan should submit their application to the College as early as possible in their senior year.

- Hampden-Sydney recognizes that some students with records of superior academic achievement and promise may require fewer than the usual four years of secondary school to prepare for college. Under the Early Admission Plan, qualified candidates whose credentials are received by July 1 of their junior year will receive an acceptance or deferment no later than July 31. Campus Interviews
- Candidates considering Hampden-Sydney College are strongly encouraged and, in some cases, may be required to visit the campus for a personal interview. Students conduct tours of the campus. Conferences with professors and/or coaches can be arranged. Requests for appointments should be directed to the Admissions Office at (434) 223-6120.
- The Office is open year-round from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday. A map, with complete instructions for visitors, will be sent if sufficient notice is given.
