CEPE Entrepreneurship

To make Hampden-Sydney a place that inspires and empowers students to use the liberal arts foundation to become value creators and entrepreneurial market leaders.
To develop a system of curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs that support a community of students with the interest and ability to be successful entrepreneurs and give them the experience, connections, and skills necessary to help them achieve their visions. Our goals are to increase awareness of entrepreneurship as a viable career option and to provide students opportunities for progressive development toward successful venture creation and give students the ability to present tangible results of the critical thinking skills instilled by liberal arts education at Hampden-Sydney College.

The CEPE Entrepreneurship program encourages students to develop their interests in venture creation by providing opportunities to explore entrepreneurial thinking and market leadership through various outreach programs:
  • Business leader lecture series
  • Entrepreneurs on Campus workshops
  • Innovation Reading Group

For those students ready to become engaged in the process of venture creation, we provide resources and advising to help them develop implementable ideas:

  • MyEJ Online Seminar
  • BUSN 223, Entrepreneurial Thinking
  • Make small "practice" pitch to our angel investors
  • Advising

As students begin the process of starting their business, the CEPE provides technical workshops, business plan advising, and access to the H-SC alumni network:

  • Market Research Workshop
  • Investment Workshop
  • Alumni Network
  • Pitch in the "Tiger's Den"
