Ms. Masters comes to Hampden-Sydney College with 16 years of experience where she most recently served as the Associate Director of the Academic & Career Advising Center at Longwood University. As the Director of Career Education and Vocational Reflection she will assist current students and alumni through the career development process. Ellen earned a Master of Science, Education degree in Counselor Education with a track in Community and College Counseling from Longwood College in 2002. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Visual & Performing Art, degree from Longwood College in 1997.
Ellen currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Association of Colleges & Employers (VACE) as the Past President.
Aside from "work", Ellen is actively involved in the Farmville community where she plays an active role on the Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors/Chair of Leadership Farmville, Stars Under the Stars Summer Film Series Committee, and previously served as the Chairwoman for Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity's first ever Women Build and with the Heart of Virginia Festival. One of her greatest pleasures is welcoming new faces to the Farmville community, and spending time with her 4 legged child (adopted from the Southside Meherrin SPCA in Jan 2011).
