Choose a Major

What can I do with a Liberal Arts degree?  I'm sure you've heard comments like this before:  "There's absolutely nothing you can do with a B.A. in history except teach." Ditto for English, French, Philosophy, and our other liberal arts majors here at Hampden-Sydney.  Many of our students and their parents wonder what career opportunities await a liberal arts graduate.

The answer is "You can do anything with a degree from Hampden-Sydney College".  Throughout our history, our alums have excelled in a number of diverse fields.  One of the keys to their success has been the liberal arts education that they received here at Hampden-Sydney College where they have learned to read, think, research, communicate (both orally and in written expression), lead, and learn how to learn.  This education has prepared them to succeed no matter what career path they choose.
