The Hampden-Sydney Summer Development Program (HSSDP) in Atlanta is for students interested in bettering themselves both professionally and personally in a 10-week program hosted by the Atlanta Chapter of the Hampden-Sydney Alumni Association. Qualifying students will interview with Hampden-Sydney alumni for internships. The selected students will intern and live in Hampden-Sydney sponsored housing, receive personalized 1-on-1 mentorship from an alumnus, attend weekly group events, participate in a group service project, and spend time in personal reflection and professional development. For more information about the HSSDP (Atlanta), please email Becca Shelton in the Career Education Office.
Interested? Here's what you need to do:
1. Schedule a meeting with either Becca Shelton or Ellen Masters to discuss your interest and candidacy.
2. Identify and discuss your career interests in your meeting with Becca or Ellen.
3. Finalize and complete your resume with Becca or Ellen.
4. Once you have identified your career interests and finalized your resume, Becca or Ellen will connect you, via email, with Drew Prehmus; he is the alumnus in Atlanta coordiinating students and opportunities. After initializing contact with Drew and setting a phone meeting, you will discuss your interests with Drew and continue the process.
The Career Education staff would like to recognize and give thanks to Drew Prehmus '08 for his dedication and tireless efforts to develop and refine HSSDP Atlanta. Many thanks, Drew!
