Hampden-Sydney College fully supports its students who engage in experiential learning activities through internships, volunteerism, summer research, and job shadow opportunities. Internships allow you to acquire experience, paid or unpaid, in an occupation, profession, or pursuit of interest. What's more, they'll give you the opportunity to "try before you buy."
Students may receive academic credit for internships related to their academic fields of study. Such internships combine on-the-job experience with on-going course work and the production of a substantial research paper on a related issue.
Generously funded by our alumni, we offer internship scholarships for current students who have obtained summer experiential learning opportunities, but may not otherwise be able to participate due to financial constraints. Scholarship amounts vary based on each individual application and the discretion of the awards committee.
