Career Education Policy on Student No-Show/ Cancellation

Policy Statement on Student Cancellations and No-Shows

Cancellation Policy
If it is necessary to cancel any interview (phone, Skype, on-campus, etc.) coordinated by Career Education, and/or any other Career Education sponsored event that requires an RSVP, please do so as soon as possible, and within at least 24 hours. Interview spots are in high demand, and your early cancellation will give other students an opportunity to meet with the employer.

To cancel an interview, or RSVP to a Career Education sponsored event after the registration deadline has passed, call (434) 223-6106, or visit the Career Education and Vocational Reflection Office in Bagby 209. You cannot, for any reason, cancel via email.

No-Show Policy
Not showing up for a scheduled interview (phone, Skype, or on-campus, etc.) coordinated by Career Education staff, or a Career Education event that requires an RSVP, is a failure to honor your commitment, and reflects poorly on your reputation.

In the event of a late cancellation or no-show to any Career Education sponsored event or interview (phone, Skype, on-campus, etc.) coordinated by Career Education staff, you will forfeit your interviewing privileges through Career Education, and waive your right to participate in any Career Education sponsored event, workshop, or career counseling. In addition, your access to TigerConnections, our online job and internship board, will be disabled until the following criteria are satisfied.

In order to reinstate privileges to the above you must:

  • Meet with the Associate Director of the Career Education and Vocational Reflection Office.
  • Write a letter of apology explaining your absence to the employer(s) affected and submit a copy of the letter to the Associate Director.

For clarification on any of the above policy statements, please contact the Associate Director of Career Education and Vocational Reflection, Ms. Snyder, at 223-6105, or Bagby 216.
