Each January, just prior to classes resuming, the Career Education Office offers the Professional Development Institute. The PDI is a 2-day event in which select students are invited to participate in a variety of professional development activities, including their choice of breakout sessions, a formal dinner, keynote speakers, and networking with Hampden-Sydney alumni and peers. Topics covered in January 2014 include everything from resume and cover letter writing 101, marketing a liberal arts education, to branding yourself, and personal finance and investing after college.
