Honors Scholarships

The Honors Program at Hampden-Sydney College has given men of talent the opportunity to pursue an education in an environment tailored to the way men learn best (print Honors Brochure). The Program is designed for students who give evidence of intellectual curiosity, independence of thought, and excitement in learning. Honor students may qualify for the following scholarships:

ALLAN SCHOLARSHIPS

Candidates with an SAT of 1400 (ACT 32) or better and a class rank in the top 5% will be considered for this award.
$30,000 grant

VENABLE SCHOLARSHIPS

Candidates with an SAT score of 1350 (ACT 30) or better and a class rank in the top 10% will be considered for this award.
$25,000 grant

PATRICK HENRY SCHOLARSHIPS

Candidates with an SAT score of 1250 (ACT 28) or better and a class rank in the top 15% will be considered for this award.
$20,000 grant

MADISON SCHOLARSHIPS

For enrolled students with outstanding academic records during their freshman year.
$20,000 grant

* Financial need is determined by the FAFSA. Awards are made by the College once that form has been received from the applicant. Grant awards, unlike loans, do not have to be repaid.
All SAT scores include the Critical Reading and Math subscores.
