Modern Languages Study-Abroad Scholarship

The Modern Languages Study-Abroad Scholarship

The Modern Languages Study-Abroad Scholarship was established in 2009 by members of the Modern Languages faculty, alumni, and friends to assist a student with a major or minor in modern languages to study during May Term in a country where the modern language is spoken. The Scholarship is intended to provide an immersion experience and, therefore, requires a homestay with a local family during the study period.

The student should have documented financial need and a strong academic record. First preference is given to a student of Spanish. Should no Spanish student be eligible, second preference is given to a student of another modern language. The recipient will be selected by the tenured Modern Languages faculty in consultation with the Director of Global Education and Study Abroad.
