Reference & Instruction

Reference librarians are happy to help you find needed information and learn to use library resources. The Reference desk is located on the second floor of the library. If there is not a librarian at the desk, please stop by the Circulation desk or the Reference office, room 201. Evening reference hours are Monday - Thursday, 6-10 p.m.

Bortz Library has no extensive archival or manuscript collections. In selected cases the Reference staff may be able to provide brief answers to requests for genealogical or historical material, but there are no staff available for in-depth genealogical research.

When submitting an email request for reference service, please provide a detailed description of the information needed. A reply will be provided as soon as possible, depending on the amount of research involved and the availability of staff.

Instruction

Faculty may arrange for specialized library instruction for their classes. Instruction can be designed for students' specific assignment needs as well as for general library and research skills.
