The Cabell Foundation issues $500,000 challenge to Hampden-Sydney College
The Cabell Foundation of Richmond has awarded a $500,000 challenge grant to Hampden-Sydney College toward remaining construction costs of its new library. The grant challenges alumni and friends of the College to contribute $500,000 for the project by June 2009 in order to receive the $500,000 award from the Foundation. All new gifts designated for the library project will count toward the $500,000 goal.
The Robert G. Cabell III and Maude Morgan Cabell Foundation was established in 1957 by Mr. & Mrs. Robert G. Cabell, III, of Richmond, Virginia, as a private charitable foundation. Its purpose is to provide financial support for capital projects for organizations in the Commonwealth of Virginia which are exempt from taxation under the Internal Revenue Code; preference is given to qualifying organizations in the Richmond area.
