Senior Mike Dowd from Richmond, Virginia, is no stranger to giving back to his community. While in high school, Dowd helped establish the non-profit RAMPS-Ramp Access Made Possible by Students-which pairs able students with disabled citizens who cannot afford ramp access to their homes. Dowd's contributions were recently recognized by the Governor of Virginia. "The Hampden-Sydney man serves," Dowd notes, "and I want to do my part to better my community." A Patrick Henry Scholar majoring in Economics and Commerce and a member of the Golf Team, Dowd leaves a legacy of "giving back" to future generations of Hampden-Sydney men.
