Hampden-Sydney College senior Stew Neifert recently presented his Summer Research Honors Project in a public presentation at the College. Stew is one of a select group of students who undertake summer research in conjunction with members of the Hampden-Sydney faculty. Each project is evaluated on its originality, on the thoroughness of its research methods, and on the quality of its findings.
Stew's project was entitled, "The Rostral Thalamic Reticular Nucleus: How Lesions to the Rostral TRN effect performance in rats on a Visual Discrimination Task." A biology major, he is a graduate of Fluvanna County High School and is the son of Ron & Mary Neifert of Palmyra.
