The 2009-2010 Hampden-Sydney Fund exceeded its goal by raising $2.099 million from 2,501 alumni donors. This would not have been possible without the generous support of our students, faculty, parents, and alumni who dug deep to continue providing the excellence which is the Hampden-Sydney College experience. More than 95% of current students receive some form of financial aid, which cannot be supplied by tuition and other fees. Your gifts to the Hampden-Sydney Fund help to provide this support. Every gift matters, especially in these challenging economic times. Thank you for your generous gifts.
Interim Director of Annual Giving Chad Krouse ’02 believes there is much work left to be done in this new fiscal year. “Alumni giving currently stands at 28%,” notes Krouse, “and we are gearing up now for what promises to be an even better year for the Hampden-Sydney Fund.”
Alumni phonathons will be scheduled throughout the year for alumni clubs to help boost giving participation among their classes, and new strategies for retaining and growing alumni donors are also in the works. “We need to garner the support of more alumni—young and old—to really grow the potential of our annual giving programs, which can have a tremendous impact on the College,” Krouse believes. “We have a lot of work to do this year, so be ready to help Hampden-Sydney College celebrate another exciting year by volunteering in our phonathons, participating in the Alumni Council, and assisting in other programs to get our message out to alumni. We cannot do it without your support.”
The goal for the Hampden-Sydney Fund in this new year stands at $2.021 million. “We can surpass this goal,” Krouse maintains, “with your gifts of time, talent, and resources for our beloved college. Every gift counts.”
