Holly Goddard JonesHampden-Sydney College hosts author Holly Goddard Jones in An Evening of Fiction on Thursday, October 27.  Ms. Jones is the author of Girl Trouble (New York: Harper Perennial, 2009).  She is also professor of English at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she teaches undergraduate and graduate workshops in fiction writing and creative nonfiction.

Ms. Jones' stories have been published in Best American Mystery Stories 2008 (Houghton Mifflin, 2008), New Stories from the South: The Year's Best, 2008 (Algonquin Books, 2008), New Stories from the South: The Year's Best, 2007 (Algonquin Books, 2007).

She earned a B.A. from the University of Kentucky and a M.F.A. from The Ohio State University.  She has received awards from the Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers' Award, 2007, the Peter Taylor Scholarship in Fiction, Sewanee Writers' Conference, 2006.

The reading, free and open to the public, will begin at 7 PM on the 4th floor of the Bortz Library.
