Ann S. Cassell has assumed the duties of Director of Development in the Hampden-Sydney Office of Institutional Advancement. Prior to joining the Hampden-Sydney staff, she had served as Director of Alumnae Relations at Hollins University since 2007.
As the Director of Development, Ann will have leadership of the fundraising initiatives in the Hampden-Sydney Fund, as well as the oversight of our programs in alumni relations and our parent programs, including the Parent's Council. Ann's extensive experience in alumni relations, both at Hollins and at the University of Virginia, will be extremely valuable as we transition to new reunion programing that focuses on strengthening our reunion-giving initiatives.
Ann holds a BA with Distinction in Political and Social Thought from the University of Virginia and a Master's of Liberal Studies from Hollins. As the Director of Alumnae Relations at Hollins, Ann was instrumental in building a vibrant and diverse alumnae relations program and was an important leader in their $161 million capital campaign, the largest fundraising success in the history of any southern woman's college. Her development background includes successful major gift work at both Hollins and Virginia Tech. Since 2008, she has served as president of Virginia Tech's men's basketball booster organization, the Roundball Club.
