On Wednesday, November 28, Hampden Sydney College will host David Griffith in a reading from his works.
Griffith is the author of A Good War Is Hard to Find: The Art of Violence in America (Soft Skull Press, 2006), a series of essays about violence in America, stemming from the photos taken at Abu Ghraib. His work has appeared in numerous publications, including Image, The Normal School, and Time Out Chicago. He is at work on a novel and a second book of essays and teaches at Sweet Briar College
Commenting about the book, Josh Tyson of Time Out Chicago says, "Griffith asks key questions about the state of our country's faith and humanity without the crutch of an agenda, this book is a massively forceful piece of criticism."
Sponsored by the Rhetoric Program at H-SC, the reading will begin at 4:30 PM in the Bortz Library, 4th Floor Rotunda. The program is free and open to the community.
