The Big Event - April 20

April 11, 2013

logoThe Big Event is a day of service with a simple message to the community, "Thank you."

Originated at Texas A&M in 1982, the Big Event has since spread to campuses across the country.  It is now one of the largest student-led service projects in the nation.   The purpose of the Big Event is to give back to the community, to thank local residents for their support throughout the year.

This year's Big Event will be Saturday, April 20, 2013.  Service projects include helping neighbors with yard work and other home projects, as well as helping local community service organizations.  This year we will also be doing a blitz build of two sheds for Habitat.

We will provide you with a hearty breakfast at the Tiger Inn that morning at 8 am, then groups will head out to the project sites and be there from 9 am - noon.

Come be a part of this great event!  You can sign up as a group or as an individual.   E-mail Karin Gollin at
