Alexander P. "Pat" Dyer is a retired CEO and Deputy Chairman of the BOC Group, London, England. He graduated from the U. S. Military Academy with a BS in Engineering in 1954 and received an MBA from Harvard University in 1959. He served as a Lieutenant in the Armor Branch of the U. S. Army following graduation from Airborne and Ranger School. After graduation from HBS he was employed in industrial sales management with Esso for four years before joining Air Products and Chemicals where over the course of twenty six years he rose to the position of Executive Vice President and Corporate Director. He departed Air Products in 1989 to join the BOC Group as CEO Gases and main board director. In his seven years in London with the BOC Group he progressed to the position of CEO and Deputy Chairman. Concurrently he joined the board of Bunzl,plc and became its non-executive chairman. Additionally he served as a director of the BWAY Corp. in the U. S. He has recently completed a book, Hardball in the Boardroom, which draws on his experiences in Business Leadership and Ethics.
