Admission requirements

  • Male students
  • Rising 10th, 11th & 12th grades
  • Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher

Cost to attend The Shelton Leadership Challenge

The cost to attend the Hampden-Sydney College Shelton Leadership Challenge six-day residential program is $600. This includes all curriculum materials, lodging, and food; low and high ropes training; transportation during the week; and evening activities. When submitting your application, please include a $100 deposit (made out to H-SC Shelton Leadership Challenge) toward the final payment of $600 to reserve your spot in the program. 

If the applicant is not accepted, the $100 deposit will be refunded. If an accepted applicant chooses not to attend the program, a refund will be provided up to one month prior to the start of the program. No refunds will be issued after May 29, 2017.

  • Completed Application
  • Two letters of reference (or name of references if submitting separately)
  • $100 deposit made out to H-SC Shelton Leadership Challenge
