Constitution for the Future Educators Club of H-S C
Article I. Name
We shall be called the Future Educators Club of Hampden-Sydney College.
Article II. Purpose
We shall strive to promote awareness of issues and professional opportunities in the field of education.
Article III. Composition
The club's existence shall entail periodic general meetings throughout the semester. Also, the club will sponsor outside speakers and events for the benefit of the entire community.
Article IV. Elections and Officers
The club shall hold elections at the last meeting prior to April 1 of each year and it shall observe all regulations regarding elections and notification of new officers as found in the Student Finance Board Manual and in The Key. Officers will assume their duties at the first meeting on or after April 1st.
The President shall be responsible for presiding over meetings and representing the club at official functions.
The Vice-President shall be responsible for presiding over meetings in the absence of the president. Also, the vice-president shall represent the club at official functions.
The Secretary/Treasurer shall be responsible for maintaining and dispersing club funds, taking minutes at meetings when necessary, and disseminating promotional materials for community events.
Article V. Finance
Each student member shall be obliged to pay a $5 membership fee; each faculty or staff member shall pay a $10 fee each semester. These fees shall help to cover the costs of arranging club programs and events. The club shall request funding from the Student Finance Board to subsidize the remaining portion of expenses. The club shall observe all pertinent regulations and guidelines pursuant to maintaining active status as a club, as found in the Student Finance Board Manual and in The Key.
