All programs meet Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. in Johns Auditorium
(Note: programs begin in Johns, but many have interactive components that take you elsewhere)
In its first year, The Good Men Plan has proven itself a valuable addition to Hampden-Sydney's programming for first-year students. Freshmen have heard about leadership from President Howard; considered the roles of both technology and wellness in their lives; begun developing a four-year academic and professional development plan; and discussed with their peers what it means to be a man, an everyday hero, and a member of an inclusive community.
While institutions nationwide are reporting an increasingly difficult time engaging their students, we have seen an average attendance rate of 66% across the seven Good Men Plan programs to-date. For a program that challenges our newest students to grapple with big ideas, we are pleased that so many students continue to validate it through their presence.
Many members of our faculty, staff, and greater College community have volunteered time to ensure its success by either coordinating or participating in programs.
