This short math test is required of all students. The test results are used by advisors to place students in the appropriate level math course. Please bring two pens or pencils.

1:30 pm - 2 pm - Rhetoric Editing Test (F) (T)
2:15 pm- 4 pm - Rhetoric Essay Test (F) (T), Gilmer Hall (Locations same as math test)

These two tests are required of all new freshmen. They are also required of transfers who have earned fewer than six hours of credit in writing courses. Please bring two pens or pencils. Students may bring The Bedford Handbook for Writers, 6th ed., by Diana Hacker, if they wish.
2 pm- 5 pm - Rhetoric Proficiency Exam, Morton Hall Lobby

This test is required of all transfer students who have been previously notified to take this exam. Please bring two pens. The Rhetoric Program will provide a dictionary and a grammar handbook (The Bedford Handbook for Writers, 6th ed., by Diana Hacker) for each exam room.
4:45 pm- 5:15 pm - Language Study Introduction (F) (T), See list of locations below
All students signing up for language study are required to attend one of the sessions listed for French, Spanish, German, Latin and Greek. Students will be given a short introduction to the study of languages at the College. Faculty will explain the language proficiency requirement, guide students to proper placement in language classes, and explain majors or minors and study-abroad opportunities.

The ultimate Orientation event, organized by and for students! New students will have an opportunity to get to know each other through a series of fun and competitive activities. While building strong bonds with their classmates, students will also compete to take the title of the Hill Champions for 2016.
