2011
September 1st
7:00pm : Introduction to Fraternities, College Church (Coat and tie)
- Attendence at the annual Introduction to Fraternities is mandatory for all students who intend to participate in fraternity rush. Those unable to attend this session must meet with the Interfraternity Council chairman before participating in rush.
8:00pm : Formal Rush, Fraternity Circle (Coat and tie)
- Those attending the Introduction to Fraternities are invited to visit Hampden-Sydney's nine active social fraternity chapters during concurrent open houses at each chapter's house.
September 22nd
11:30am - 12:30pm : Fraternity Town Hall Meeting, Johns Auditorium
- Social fraternity members are encouraged to join President Howard and other administrators in a conversation about Greek Life at Hampden-Sydney College. Audience questions welcomed.
2012
January 23rd-28th
Times TBA : Fraternity Smokers, Fraternity Circle
- During the first full week of the second semester, each fraternity will host a 'smoker.' Smokers are a traditionally formal final rush event where rushes have a final opportunity to gauge their level of interest in pursuing membership through pledging. These events are scheduled by the Interfraternity Council.
