Mission & Goals
Established in 1999, the Office of Intercultural Affairs provides elaborate and interesting programs that assist in accomplishing diversity goals.
The aim is to provide the College with leadership and direction in the area of diversity and cultural competency. This department works cooperatively with the faculty, the Intercultural Affairs Committee, and the Minority Student Organizations to assist their roles in accommodating multicultural Hampden-Sydney students.
Mission
The Office of Intercultural Affairs serves as a central resource for creating an environment that is sensitive to the diversity of a multicultural community while creating an atmosphere and opportunities that are conducive to the full development of diverse students.
Goals
- Ensure the availability of academic, administrative, and social support for minority ethnic students.
- Provide members of the dominant culture with a forum for understanding minority ethnic students that will improve diversity acceptance.
- Provide leadership and direction in creating a culturally competent environment for all constituents of the College.
