Mr. Loredo enlightens the audience on the derivations of the different terms used to recognize people of the Spanish-speaking world.
Mr. Angel Martinez Loredo, a celebrated multicultural expert, educator and political analyst, delivered a very informative, while interesting talk on the evolutional significance of the names used to identify the people of Spanish-speaking descent. Over 60 Hampden-Sydney community members attended this Hispanic Heritage Month celebration event. In addition to captivating the audience on this topic, Mr. Loredo also talked about the importance of affirmative action and the need for minorities in highly significant positions. After the talk, Mr. Loredo answered questions and met with a group of students majoring in Spanish. This event was sponsored by the Minority Student Union, Modern Languages Department, and Intercultural Affairs.
