Bucknell University Lacrosse Coach Sid Jamieson: U.S. CONSTITUTION & THE NATIVE AMERICAN INFLUENCE
November 4, 2008 7:30 PM, Crawley Forum
On Tuesday, November 4, at Hampden-Sydney College, Sid Jamieson will share his thoughts in a lecture entitled The U.S. Constitution and the Native American Influence.
Jamieson, who is now retired, coached the Division I lacrosse program at Bucknell University for 38 years and was a 25-year veteran of the Bucknell football coaching staff. He was a catalyst for advancing the Native American presence on the international lacrosse scene as the Iroquois National Team coach in the 1980's.
Jamieson is a frequent lecturer to Native American youth on the subjects of education, self-motivation, and self-esteem. For decades he has spoken at lacrosse camps and to professional lacrosse organizations across the nation on intercultural and international understanding.
He is a member of the Pennsylvania Lacrosse Hall of Fame, the Bucknell University Athletics Hall of Fame, and the SUNY Cortland Athletics Hall of Fame. In 2005 Jamieson was honored with the Iroquois Nationals Award for his lifetime commitment and extraordinary contribution to the "Creator's Game."
Sponsored by the Office of Intercultural Affairs and Hampden-Sydney College Lacrosse Team, Jamieson's presentation is at 7:30 PM in Crawley Forum.
