Course Registration Required:

All students must register for Fall 2013 courses during their registration period in March to secure any H-SC housing.

PRIOR ONLINE HOUSING SELECTION CONTRACT STIPULATION:   Assignments and housing contracts are contingent on a student registering for Fall 2013 courses during their registration period. Failure to do so will result in the contact becoming VOID and forfeiture of the housing assignment for the entire group or an individual's off-campus award.

Selection criteria is based on the earned credit hour standards set forth in the academic catalogue at the end of the previous fall semester before housing selections are made.  Refer to the selection brackets below for further clarification.  NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE TO THIS STANDARD

Late Housing Registration Fee:

A fee of $100.00 will be assessed to students who fail to register for housing and sign a housing contract online.  Students who are unsure or know they will not be returning in the Fall should contact our office by April 22 to avoid being charged the late fee.

Before selecting housing you must:

  • Contact the Business Office or Registrar to resolve any holds on your account(s).
  • See your advisor to receive clearance to select classes
  • REGISTER FOR FALL COURSES during your registration period to be eligible for housing registration.
  • Read and become familiar with the online housing process. This information can be found on the Student Life/Residence Life section of the H-SC website.

Housing selection:

During the assigned selection time the student will logon using his H-SC e-mail ID and password.  He will then choose his housing, and roommate if applicable, for next year based on what is available.  He must accept the terms of the Housing Contract and include an online signature.  Each student will also select a meal plan based on what he is eligible for before he finishes the housing selection process.

All students must complete this process.  Students selecting a double occupancy room should have a roommate in mind at the time of selection.  Otherwise, he will have to sign a TBA (to be assigned) contract. Room and roommate preference cannot be guaranteed but TBA contracts will be assigned housing and a roommate after Regular Room Choosing according to availability.

2013-2014 ESTIMATED Room Rates:

Residence hall double room: $TBA and technology fee: $TBA

Residence hall single room: $TBA and technology fee: $TBA

Special Housing Circumstances:

Students planning to study abroad: all students who intend to study abroad for the Fall 2013 semester must inform the Associate Dean in writing (wlawson@hsc.edu) of his plans.  They will be randomly assigned housing according to availability in early January prior to the start of the Spring 2014 semester.  It is the responsibility of the student to contact Dean Lawson with THREE housing preferences by December 1.  Students who have not been guaranteed acceptance into a study abroad program should sign up for housing.  Students studying abroad will receive College information via their H-SC e-mail address.

Off-Campus:  only those students who have been granted permission to live outside of College-owned housing may do so.  Students granted permission to live off campus must register for courses during their registration period or their off-campus contract could be revoked

IFC Fraternity Presidents:  fraternity presidents are required to live in their respective houses during the Fall 2013 semester unless granted special permission by Dean Lawson in February.  All students listed on fraternity housing rosters must register for Fall 2013 courses.  Failure to do so will disqualify all chapter members housing awards.

Room Selections will be conducted online according to the brackets below:(GPA tables subject to change)
