Hampden-Sydney has a long tradition of student leadership on campus. In addition to the elected positions of Student Government, Senate, and Court, there are numerous appointed positions. Students serve as members of the faculty's Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Lectures and Programs, and Athletic Committees. Students are also active in numerous clubs and organizations. These include groups focused on sports and recreation, service, politics, religion, and the arts. Honor societies and social fraternities round out the wide array of opportunities for students to get involved.
