Adjustment Issues

Transitioning from high school to college can cause some adjustment issues. Students, at times, become concerned about these issues, but choose not to seek counseling because they perceive the problems as not serious enough. However, the issues that clients in counseling face vary in severity.

Some common adjustment issues include:

  • Emancipation Issues
  • Homesickness
  • Academic difficulties
  • Making new friends
  • Romantic relationships
  • Family conflicts
  • Stress management
  • Grief
  • Identity issues
