UNITY Alliance is a Hampden-Sydney student organization that was founded in 2006.  The organization invites participation from all members of the Hampden-Sydney community.  Its mission is to foster a safe and supportive environment for all members of the Hampden-Sydney community regardless of sexual orientation.  For information about UNITY Alliance, contact Glen Bowman, Director of Counseling Services, or any member of the college's Intercultural Affairs Committee.  Information about Hampden-Sydney's Safe Zone program is available as a downloadable Safe Zone Manual.

Longwood University's UNITY Alliance invites participation from all members of the Hampden-Sydney community.  Its mission is to help gay, lesbian and bisexual students become a more integral part of the community, to educate on issues pertaining to sexual orientation, and to examine issues of discrimination based on sexual orientation.  UNITY Alliance sponsors a private and confidential support group for all sexual minority students, as well as those questioning their sexuality.

PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) is a national non-profit organization with over 200,000 members and supporters and over 500 affiliates in the United States.  Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
