The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded Hampden-Sydney College a $55,000 grant to support the development of a strategic plan. Through a process that will involve every level of the College's constituencies, Hampden-Sydney will engage in reflection, discussion, and decision-making about its character and its future, beginning in October 2010.
"We are grateful for the Mellon Foundation's vital assistance in this endeavor," observed Dr. Christopher B. Howard, President of the College. "The grant has allowed us to engage in discussions of key issues before the semester begins and to be well underway on the plan's development in the coming semester."
