Ryan CarterRyan M. Carter '13
Ryan is from Chester, Virginia and is a graduate of Thomas Dale High School. At Hampden-Sydney, Ryan majored in Economics and Psychology. He served as a freshman RA, a peer mentor, and a writing center tutor. Additionally, Ryan participated in the Society of '91 and played catcher for the varsity baseball team. In 2012, Ryan was awarded a Truman Scholarship, one of 75 students nation wide to receive such a distinction. Ryan graduated summa cum laude and was first in his class finishing with a cumulative GPA of 3.99. Currently Ryan is an analyst with JP Morgan Chase on Wall Street in New York, NY. Everton BatistaEverton N. Batista '12
Everton was a member of the Student Body Senate, the Society of 1791 leadership program, the Pre-Business Society, the Garnet and Grey Society, the Soccer Club and the Rugby Club.  He was a periodical writer for The Hampden-Sydney Tiger, the school's newspaper. While at Hampden-Sydney, Everton majored in Economics and Commerce and truly enjoyed the challenging classes and the great atmosphere at H-SC. Everton was born and raised in Brazil and is trilingual (Portuguese, English and French).  Everton currently is a Business Analyst in the Finance Department at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business in Washington, D.C. He is also pursuing his Master's in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University.

Andrew WalkerAndrew W. Walker '11
While at Hampden-Sydney, Drew majored in biology and focused on in economics. He enjoyed becoming involved in multiple extracurricular activities during his four years at H-SC. During his time spent on the Hill, Drew served on the student senate in his sophomore year in addition to serving as Senior Liaison to Campus Security and the president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes during his senior year. Drew was an active member of the Pre-Health Society, the Jongleurs Theater Club, the Senior Leadership Campaign, and the Peer Mentor program. He served as student advisor for Biology Professor Michael Wolyniak during his senior year. Drew also participated on the 2007 ODAC championship football team as well as the baseball team in the spring of 2011. Drew is currently pursuing his Masters of Healthcare Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and is now serving as an Administrative Resident at St. Francis Medical Center in Midlothian, Virginia.

Hakeem J. Croom '10
Hakeem came to Hampden-Sydney College from Harlem, New York, by way of Fishburne Military School in Waynesboro, Virginia. While at Hampden-Sydney, Hakeem was a four year member of the basketball team and also served as a Resident Advisor for three years and was active in the Minority Student Union. After graduation, Hakeem served as a Lower School Intern and Head Coach of the JV A2 basketball team at the Fessenden School in West Newton, Massachusetts. Currently, Hakeem is back on the Hill and serves as the Assistant Dean Students for Intercultural Affairs and Residence Life.


T. Andrew O'Shea '10
An Economics and Commerce major, Andrew was a multi-semester Dean's List Student and a member of the college's nationally ranked lacrosse team, where he was recognized twice as a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Academic team.  Andrew was also an active member of SAE fraternity and the Pre-Business Society.  Andrew is currently the Robins Campus Programs and Events Coordinator at his high school alma mater, Collegiate School in Richmond, where he is responsible for marketing and managing the athletic complex for both school and community use.  He coaches three sports at Collegiate and is a program director for the Geronimo youth lacrosse program.  Andrew is also involved with the Richmond Chapter of Hampden-Sydney Alumni, where he focuses on young alumni giving and event planning.


Lawrence K. Weber IV '08
While at Hampden-Sydney, Larry was a brother and the treasurer of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, a Spanish tutor, an investigator for the Honor Court, and a member of the club soccer team. Upon graduating in 2008 with a degree in Economics and Commerce and a minor in Spanish, Larry began working at AllianceBernstein Investments in New York City. He is currently employed at Credit Suisse in the private bank as a member of a brokerage team.
