Town Meeting with Virgil H Goode

5th District Congressman Virgil H. Goode Jr. in Crawley Forum

On Monday, November 26, 2007, The Wilson Center for Leadership sponsored a "town meeting" with Virgil H. Goode, Jr., the VA Congressman for the Fifth District.

Rep. Goode spoke to an attentive group at 7:00 p.m. in Crawley Forum at Hampden-Sydney College. On a rainy night, on the heels of Thanksgiving break, there were more community members present than students, which was an unusual phenomenon.

Rep. Goode gave an overview of the current session of Congress, which was in fall recess. He then fielded questions for a half hour on a variety of topics including our dependence on foreign oil, alternative fuel sources and research, illegal immigration and tobacco taxes.
