  • Collaborative programming with the Bill of Rights Institute and the Constitution Center at Montpelier on workshops for approximately 100 teachers from ten states and 50 high school students from across the United States

  • Internship placement with government and non-profit organizations from Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington to Western Europe

  • Leadership skills workshops for students enrolled in the Freshman Leadership Program and the Public Service Minor

  • A 9/11 anniversary program that featured presentations by Ambassador Eric Edelman, Lt General Samuel Wilson and Lt General William Boykin

  • Special events related to the 2012 national elections as well as contemporary American politics and culture

  • Annual Capitol Hill trip featuring meetings on international trade, congressional politics, and the 2012 national elections

  • Multiple Alumni programs in Washington, including the initiation of the HSC Capitol Hill Caucus in March and a program on philanthropy in November, and on campus

  • A successful Alumni/Summer College program on the Renaissance, Reformation and American Exceptionalism

  • Current Events series with programs on the Korean crisis, Iraq reconstruction, and instability in the Middle East

  • Support for a major college conference on the Holocaust, the annual HSC Constitution Day program, and for a special leadership workshop by members of the Staunton Shakespeare Company
