A Message from Dr. David Marion
Director of Academic Programs
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for a Joyous New Year!
The faculty and staff of the Wilson Center extend warm holiday greetings to the many alumni, students and friends of the Center whose commitment and support made this an especially exciting and productive year. Again this year, the Center's calendar featured lively and provocative public affairs programming, instructive leadership skills workshops, world-wide internships, and collaborative seminars for high school teachers and students from across the United States. More than a thousand persons attended our fall programs and nearly one hundred students are enrolled in the public service and national security studies minors as well as the Freshman Leadership Program.
This newsletter features a pictorial review of some of the many events of the past twelve months. Every one of these events was the product of a team effort. The collaborative efforts of the Wilson Center faculty, alumni and students has enhanced the regional, national, and even international visibility of the Center. This is a source of considerable satisfaction to us and, we hope, to our many benefactors. We already have some exciting events planned for 2013, including what promises to be fascinating examination of the Reformation, Renaissance and foundations of American "exceptionalism" (they are all connected!) during the upcoming alumni/summer college. Information on all of our events can be found on the Wilson Center's calendar page. As we look forward to the new year, you may be assured that our commitment to insuring that the Wilson Center's leadership, public service, and public affairs programs effectively prepare young men for principled citizenship and leadership has never been stronger.
