Perspective Student Visit
John Axsom '95 brought a group of perspective students to the Wilson Center for a visit with Dr. David Marion and Lt. Gen Jerry Boykin. While here in Farmville, the group also visited with Lt. Gen Samuel Wilson at his home in Rice.

Freshmen Leadership Program
Dr. Gail Funke
The Freshmen Leadership Program sponsored an organization simulation on Sunday, February 5. The simulation exercise allowed freshmen and other Wilson Center students to see what it is like when teams are given concrete assignments, when each team member has only a piece of the information needed to make decisions, when managers come and go, and when corporate officials change requirements and goals. The winning team earned $1000 more than the losing team by making the same number of correct choices and one fewer wrong choice. The simulation was overseen by Dr. Gail Funke, a consultant for organizations such as the Federal Executive Institute and the U. S. Marine Corps.

Capt David Grisdale '08, US Marine Corps, has returned from a nine month deployment in Afghanistan. He was the executive officer of Delta Company, 2-34 Armor Battalion.

"Impressions of Putin's Russia"

Dr. James Pontuso, Patterson Professor of Government & Foreign Affairs
Dr. Pontuso travelled to Russia in December to participate in a conference on Alexander Soltzhenitsyn. He shared his impressions on the current state of affairs in the country with students and faculty.
