Reference Librarian

Reference librarians are happy to help you find needed information and learn to use library resources. The Reference desk is located on the second floor of the library. If there is not a librarian at the desk, please stop by the Circulation desk or the Reference office, room 201. Evening Reference hours are Monday - Thursday, 6-10 p.m.

Reference service via the Internet is available to Hampden-Sydney students, faculty and staff by completing the form below. Assistance for other researchers will be provided as time and resources permit.

When submitting a request for Reference service, please provide a detailed description of the information needed. A reply will be provided as soon as possible, depending on the amount of research involved and the availability of staff.

Hampden-Sydney College Library has no extensive archival or manuscript collections. In selected cases the Reference staff may be able to provide brief answers to requests for genealogical or historical material, but there are no staff available for in-depth genealogical research.
