LAST SUMMER Professor of Philosophy
Patrick A. Wilson spent a month at the
National Humanities Institute engaged in
an investigation of the ethical implications
of recent work in genetics and evolution. The
duPont-Teagle seminar on human nature that
he attended includes a follow-up meeting in
February, as well as interactive work through the
Web in the interim. Wilson applied his summer
work to an Honors reading seminar in the fall
semester and, in the spring, will utilize the work
in a philosophy junior/senior seminar, both of
which focus on the ethical theory of Immanuel
Kant.
Wilson received his B.A. from the University of Dallas, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the
University of Notre Dame. He began teaching
at the College in 1990 and was promoted to the
rank of professor in 2003.
