THREE TIGERS EARN ALL-ODAC ACCOLADES SALEM, VA (May 14, 2008)—Three members of the 2008 Hampden-Sydney baseball team were selected to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference all-league teams as selected by the coaches from around the conference. Earning all-conference honors for the 2008 season were seniors Daniel Prieto (Wellington, FL/Cardinal Newman) and Daniel Hadra (Mechanicsville, VA/Atlee), while senior David Toney (Mechanicsville, VA/Lee-Davis) earned ODAC All-Sportsmanship honors. Daniel Prieto earned second team All-ODAC honors at third base as the senior started 35 games for Hampden-Sydney. The senior batted .302 on the season with 35 hits and 14 runs scored. Prieto had four doubles and one triple on the season to go along with 18 RBI. The senior was successful on eight of his nine stolen base attempts. Daniel Hadra earned honorable mention All-ODAC accolades as a pitcher as the senior posted a 5-8 record in 15 appearances for the Tigers. Hadra started 13 contests and recorded seven complete games on the season, posting a 3.43 ERA in just over 89 innings of work. Hadra was named the ODAC Pitcher of the Week on March 24 after leading the Tigers to a 2-0 win over Guilford. David Toney was named to the ODAC All-Sportsmanship team after starting 39 games for Hampden-Sydney on the season at catcher. The senior batted .288 with 30 hits and 29 runs in 104 at-bats.
